LAHORE – A two-day cultural festival at the Alhamra Arts Council, depicting the indigenous culture of Cholistan desert, will be held on May 6-7.
Talking to APP, a senior official of the Alhamra Arts Council said that the participants – including craftsmen, folk artistes, musicians and camel dancers – from Cholistan would take part in the festival.
He said that Muhammad Hanif, who is an artist of his own kind from the Cholistan region, would exhibit his skills by carving designs on the body of a camel during the festival.
The Lahore Arts Council is also organizing, for the first time, a folk dance competition to revive this vital form of performing arts at the Alhamra Cultural Complex.
