KARACHI
: Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar claimed that blame game was being played in K
arachi which generates upto 65 percent of the country’s total revenue and that the city needed targeted development more than target operations.
While talking to media after a meeting with Federation of Pakistan Chambers
of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) traders, the mayor looked visibly displeased with Sind
h government.
He said that if someone does not like me, I will tender my resignation ,but the Sind
h government would have to make proper development in K
arachi.
While pointing towards the cases against him and MQM leader Saleem Shahzad the mayor said that similar cases were registered against the likes of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri but no one bats an eye towards them.
The mayor explained that he had been putting all out efforts f
or the initiation of development projects even after receiving death threats on a routine basis.
The traders expressed full support towards the mayor and the government f
or the cleanup drives and development projects.
