ISLAMABAD : Finance Minister Ishaq Dar appeared before the accountability court on Wednesday amid tight security and was swarmed by reports.
Once the accountability court’s judge Muhammad Bashir had read the charges against Dar, the minister refused to accept the indictment stating that he will now contest the case as per procedure.
Dar vowed to prove that the assets in question are according to his means, meanwhile the minister also submitted bonds worth five million Rupees to the court to guarantee his appearances.
NAB has also submitted a list of 16 witnesses to the accountability court
Dar has been asked by the court to ensure his presence in the October 4 hearing.
The following corruption reference regarding Dar having assets not mentioned in his income was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) after the Supreme Court’s historic July 28 decision on the Panama Paper’s case.
