ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Communications Muhammad Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry was Wednesday briefed about the National Highway Authority (NHA)’s plan to set up nine emergency response centres (ERCs) along highways in Balochistan.
The minister was presiding over a meeting held at the Ministry of Communications office on Wednesday. NHA Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar told the meeting that the NHA would establish nine ERC’s along national highways in Balochistan. These centers, he said, were being set up by the NHA through its own resources in different parts of the province, including Dhanasar, Mina Bazar, Kalat, Surab, Wad, Kararo, Nag, Wangu and Hoshab.
He added that the centres would be equipped with all kinds of facilities, including like doctors, paramedical staff, ambulances, accident management staff room, post office and Internet. National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Inspector General Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, senior officers from the ministry and NHA officials attended the meeting.
